On the rock, above the everyday life
THE OMNIA lies in the centre of Zermatt, high on a rock, 45 metres above the roofs of the town. Passing through a tunnel, guests come to an elevator rising up through the rock, which brings them to the lobby at 1'649.40 metres above sea level.
The south fot its sky
Zermatt is situated in the backcountry of the utterly romantic Visper valley at an altitude of 1'616 meters. The famed village at the foot of the Matterhorn is located on the same latitude line as Lugano, making it the most southern resort location in all of Switzerland. At the same time, Zermatt is surrounded by more than a dozen peaks that range between 3'000 – 4'000 meters.
Outdoor-feel the elements
Whether in summer or in winter, the Alpine resort of Zermatt offers an unsurpassable selection of sport and adventure opportunities. In summer, life here in the high Alps offers a wide selection of activities for hikers, climbers and golfers against a backdrop of the Matterhorn, the most famous peak on this earth. With 300 kilometers of groomed ski slopes and more than 70 lifts, Zermatt is one of the world's leading ski resorts, with guaranteed snow-cover. Unique features include the chance to ski over the border into Italy and the breathtaking panorama of no fewer than 38 peaks over 4'000 metres high.
The way up
The car-free town of Zermatt can be reached from the airports in Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Bern or Milan by rail or car within three to five hours, and by helicopter in 30 to 80 minutes.
Those travelling by car must leave their vehicles in nearby Täsch. In Zermatt only electromobiles and horse-drawn sleighs are permitted.
THE OMNIA offers its own taxi service to and from Zermatt railway station, the car park or heliport. A shuttle or helicopter service to the airports can be arranged by the hotel team.
